HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

The department begins its historical path  in September 2007 during the creation of the Odessa State Institute of Measuring Technology on the basis of the Odessa College of Standardization, Metrology and Certification. The department received its first name – the Department of Quality and Safety of Human Life.

After the reorganization of the Institute in 2011 into the Odessa State Academy of Technical Regulation and Quality, the department was renamed the Department of Standardization, Conformity Assessment and Educational Measurements. In different years, the department was headed by: Honored Worker of the Service Sector of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor  Kolomiets Leonid, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Gordienko Tatiana, Professor Banzak Oksana,  Professor Boriak Kostiantyn

In 2022, as a result of the reorganization of the departments of Metrology and information-measuring technology and Standardization, conformity assessment and educational measurements, the Department of Metrology, Quality and Standardization was created, headed by Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Haber Antonina.

Graduates of this direction can apply their professional knowledge at enterprises of various types of activities, take part in various kinds of projects and programs.

The scientific and pedagogical staff of the department consists of 17 employees, of which: 3 doctors of science (professor), 8 candidates of science (8 associate professors), 3 senior teachers. The department’s staff actively works in the educational, methodological and scientific fields, takes part in important regional and national quality development programs.

The department provides training for persons in the public service.
