The training of specialists for foreign countries in educational institutions of Ukraine is one of the most important strategic directions of foreign policy and foreign economic activity of Ukraine, and the preparation of foreign citizens for admission to institutions of higher education is the first and extremely necessary link of the entire educational process of preparing foreign students for any -any higher education institution of Ukraine, in particular for the STATE UNIVERSITY OF INTELLIGENT TECHNOLOGIES AND COMMUNICATIONS (SUITT).
The structural unit responsible for preparing foreign citizens for admission to higher education institutions of Ukraine at SUITT is the Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons
Pre-university training consists of two cycles: language training and study of general disciplines. And it is also carried out in four directions: humanitarian, engineering-technical, economic and medical-biological.
From 2021 to the present, the management of the PW is carried out by candidate of psychological sciences, associate professor Viktoriya Oleksandrivna Mykhaylenko.
The educational process at SUITT is carried out in accordance with the curricula of preparatory faculties (departments) and educational programs recommended by the Scientific and Methodological Commission of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine for the preparation of foreign citizens for admission to higher educational institutions. Work programs for each discipline are annually updated and approved by the scientific and methodical council of SUITT, which develops schedules of the educational process for each individual group, as well as constantly monitors the implementation of the curriculum and work programs by teachers.
The system for diagnosing the quality of knowledge is being improved, and control and independent papers on the main subjects of educational disciplines, as well as test tasks, are being developed and renewed.
Language training
The study of Ukrainian, Russian or English languages takes place throughout the pre-university training program. Depending on the chosen field of training, the minimum number of hours allocated to language study is 720 hours, which ensures a B1 level of language proficiency.
According to the curricula of pre-university training, the first 11 weeks of studying only the language with a maximum load per week of 30 hours, and only after mastering the required level of language knowledge in parallel with the introduction of general disciplines, this number of hours gradually decreases.
Study of general disciplines
Starting from the 12th week of study, in accordance with the direction of training you have chosen, there is a gradual introduction to the course of such general disciplines as: mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, history of Ukraine, economic and social geography of the world, basics of Ukrainian and foreign literature.
Studying all these disciplines, you deepen your knowledge of these subjects and master special terminology in Ukrainian, Russian or English, which is the next stage of language learning.
The teaching of educational disciplines at PV is provided by the relevant departments of SUITT: linguistic training is provided by the teaching of the language of instruction, the basics of Ukrainian and foreign literature and country studies, the department of higher mathematics – mathematics, the department of physics – physics, the department of information technologies – the basics of informatics and computer technology, etc.), which allocate individual teachers to work at the PE, which is subordinate to the head of the PE. The staff of teachers of special departments who are involved in work at the PV is permanent. The share of teachers with a scientific degree, involved in the work at the PV, is currently 50%. All the teachers who work at the educational institution for foreign citizens have extensive work experience and have repeatedly advanced their qualifications at leading institutions of higher education in Ukraine.
Over the past few years, teachers working at the PE for foreign citizens have created and published more than 40 teaching aids, which are actively used in the educational process. Admission of foreigners to study is carried out in accordance with international agreements of Ukraine, national programs, agreements of educational institutions with legal entities and individuals. Documents on previous education must be certified in accordance with the legislation of the country of their issuance and legalized in the inserted order, unless otherwise provided by international treaties of Ukraine for the purpose of their nostrification in the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MES of Ukraine).
To enter Ukraine, the basis for obtaining an entry visa for the purpose of study is the original invitation issued by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine, as well as a higher educational institution in accordance with the procedure established by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine.
Entry to Ukraine to study at the preparatory department is carried out in accordance with the rules of admission to the university throughout the year;
- To enter SUITT, you must have the following documents with you:
- A passport document of a citizen or a document certifying a person without citizenship;
- The original and a copy of the document on previous education;
- The original and a copy of the document (appendix to the document on education), which contains information about success in academic disciplines;
- A copy of the birth certificate;
- Medical health certificate certified by the country’s official health care body and issued no later than 2 months before entry to study in Ukraine;
- Insurance policy for the provision of emergency medical assistance (except for foreigners arriving from countries with which agreements on free emergency medical assistance have been signed);
- 6 3×4 cm photo cards;
- A copy of the certificate of a foreign Ukrainian (if available);
- The documents listed above must be translated into Ukrainian and certified by a notary public.
Documents must be certified in the country of their issuance by the method that is officially used in this country for such certification, and legalized by the relevant foreign diplomatic institution of Ukraine, unless otherwise stipulated by international treaties of Ukraine.
