STATE UNIVERSITY OF INTELLIGENT TECHNOLOGIES AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS

The rector of SUITT took part in a round table dedicated to the fight against cybercrime

On June 21, 2023, the State University of Intelligent Technologies and Communications took part in the round table “Fighting cybercrime under martial law”.

The event was organized by the head of the Kyiv District Court of Odesa and the head of the Public Organization “Association of Investigating Judges of Ukraine” Serhiy Chvankin. Among the participants are lawyers, scientists, investigators, judges, border guards, representatives of the cyber police department, etc.

The State University of Intellectual Technologies and Communication was represented by Rector Oleksandr Nazarenko, Acting. dean of the faculty of information technologies and cyber security, professor Yevhen Vasiliu, assistant professor of the department of cyber security and technical protection of information Serhii Staikutsa.

“The event was held in an interesting and promising format.I believe that holding such events is in great demand not only for our university, but also for legal organizations, prosecutors’ offices, cyber police, representatives of the judicial branch of government – lawyers, judges, etc. They are interested in specialists produced by our university. Therefore, within the framework of the round table, we wanted to make this format more extensive, with a clear understanding of the tasks that we would be able to solve ourselves in the near future,” said SUITT rector Oleksandr Nazarenko.

As Serhiy Chvankin, head of the Kyiv District Court of Odesa and head of the Public Organization “Association of Investigating Judges of Ukraine” noted:

“Today, at the event, we discussed a very relevant topic of our time – cyber security and the fight against cybercrime. Becoming a specialist in this field now, a specialist with many competencies, is not easy. It is necessary for the state to finance universities such as SUITT, which train cyber security specialists. This is necessary so that teachers at the university can properly train students in this direction, so that you can invite foreign specialists in cyber security and students can improve their qualifications in Europe or the USA. I also believe that it is necessary to follow this path and be more active, to involve in our ideas those who understand the field of cyber security”.

The next event is scheduled for September 2023, which gives participants the opportunity to work out the ideas and results of the discussion.
